The answers are quite simple really. No one in Nigeria to my knowledge has ever written anything with a gay character as the protagonist neither has any of our writers ever tried to explore the the 'gay' theme. Nigeria is arguably the largest black nation in Africa and with the sheer number of people, one can only imagine the number of gay/bisexual people in the society, many of whom are living a false life or living in denial.   WWS took me about a year to write but putting the whole story together took about two years.
